Carnival Pride Review

Mexican Riviera January 2008

Review for the Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Pride

First time cruiser traveling with my 75 year old mother. We did the early check-in at the Queen Mary arriving at 10:30am. We were drop off and gave our luggage to the porter and proceeded to the Queen Mary. Very short line, check-in was about 10 minutes. I had did the Fun Pass online so all our paperwork was done except showing them the passports. We then waited in the first line and about 12:30 we were taken through security, had our picture taken, walked the gangway, another picture for the sail & sign card and sitting on the Lido Deck for lunch at 1:15. So much food to choose from. We then toured the ship and took picture. The ship was beautiful with Italian decor. Maybe be gawdy for some but we love it. On the Sail & Sign there was a dinner table assigned (early dinner) and we went to check out the location. It was a 6 seat table by a oceanview window. We then went to our room which was a balcony. It was great plenty of room (more than I expect). We received our luggage about 3:30. Unpacked and headed out for the life boat drill about 1/2 hour. Went to dinner a 6:00 and it was wonderful. Small portions but you could order as many as you like. Our waiter Orlando and Santiago were always ready to serve. We then went back to our room and meet our stewart Camilo, We requested a egg crate for the bed, some bathrobes to use and to have our bar locked. There is so much to write about it would take 10 pages. All the ports were wonderful. Puerto Vallarta we did a massage at Krystal hotel and had lunch on the beach. Mazatlan had a private tour with Mazatlan-Frank. The tour was city and country he was the best. Cabo walked the board walk and shopped. Attended the captains cocktail party (formal Night) drinks were free. Then dinner was lobster which was wonderful. The ships staff were more than helpful everyday. Attended two shows Voroom and Carnival Legends (featured cruiser) great shows. Last day had lunch at the Lido and waited for debarkment number to be called. We had put our luggage out the night before and had all of our customs paperwork fill out. Our number 12 was called about 9:00am and we were done with all by 9:45am. I would take this trip again you can not do everything you want in 7 days.
