We began our trip with a one night stay at the Queen Mary hotel, located right next door to the Carnival berth. We had the Winter package which included breakfast, a deluxe room and three tours. If you decide to stay here, the package is by far the best deal. The tours are interesting and the breakfast is quite good.

The hotel itself needs a fair amount of work, they are trying to keep the original cabins as they were, but carpets, bedspreads and linens need to be replaced. Public rooms could also be cleaner.

We would likely not stay at the Queen Mary again, mainly because there is no soundproofing between rooms and you can literally hear the words of conversations next door - earplugs saved me, but just barely. A nice feature is the early check in for Carnival guests on the Queen Mary.
