My Husband and I booked this cruise in July '07 to celebrate our 18th anniversary in January, but in November, he was offered a teaching position in a district that had a different winter break, so he was unable to go -bad news! The good news is that my best friend of 27 years was able to join me and we had a great time together relaxing without the demands of children, jobs, or dear husbands.
Friday night we took a red eye flight from San Diego to Miami through Charlotte on U.S. Air using frequent flyer miles. We were praying for no delays, as we were chancing it flying in the morning of our cruise. We were fortunate, as each leg of the flight was early. We has a missing luggage scare, but the airline ended up finding our luggage after all. Whew! Close one!
Around 11 a.m.,we hailed a taxi for the port. (I think it was $24.) Upon our arrival at the port of Miami, out luggage was checked in and we headed for embarkment. This was my third cruise and fastest embarkation I can remember. It wasn't long before we were on board. The rooms were not ready, but lunch was being served in the Seven Seas dining room. After a breakfast of airport food, we found our relaxing lunch quite delicious.
