The Majesty of the Seas is a great ship for families wanting to get away for a short trip! Let me cover a few areas and hopefully it will help you out. Flight-We opted to fly in the day before embarking and I was glad we did. There is so much to do in Miami and it gave us a chance to chill before the journey. The Double Tree Grand has a view over the marina that you can see the cruise ships as they come in! I highly recommend it! We even saw wild Manatees playing in the water! Taxi-Most taxis are $24 from the airport to the docks. They only accept cash!

Now for the ship… Embarking-For the most part this went very smoothly. I do recommend you get there early but our ship would not let us board until noon so we waited a short time after checking in. KEEP YOUR PASSPORT AND SAIL PASS IN HAND until you get on board! We asked if we needed it after the first check point and were told no, so we put it away and took it back out several times. Other than that, they do a great job of getting everyone one on board. Luggage-We opted to carry all of our luggage on instead of checking it so we didn't have to wait for ours to be delivered. It also saved the last night from having to pack up and put our luggage out. For a short cruise one small roll on bag is plenty! Kids- We have two boys, ages 10 and 15 who had a blast on Majesty! Our 10 year old had to be convinced to stay with us when Adventure Ocean was closing. He would have slept there I think if they would have left him! They do a great job of keeping them occupied and learning at the same time. Our 15 year old had fun playing basketball and hanging in the teen area. They could have has some more activities for teens but overall he enjoyed it. He went to the shows with us and enjoyed that too.

Food-We only ate one night in the dinning room and it was very good. We just found that the food in the Windjammer café was just as good and not as stuffy of an atmosphere. The lamb and roast duck were both great. If you like breakfast food, the Windjammer is the place for you! We ate ourselves sick every morning! Yummy made-to-order omelets and fresh fruit. We never ate at the burger place but the pizza place was great. Room service has an individual size pizza that our youngest had every day! Drinks- The pre-paid soda cards are great. You get them once you enter the ship, Deck 4 at a separate table. Don't go to the main counter! Then just fill your cup at any bar or restaurant. The pool bars had the best coke mix by the way! They also had the best mixed drinks. Shows- There was a great comedian (Bryan G) on our trip that was so talented! We laughed and laughed! There wasn't anything in his show inappropriate for teens either. The Broadway style show was awesome! We had some rough seas the night we saw it and I couldn't believe they didn't miss a step. I was impressed! Great voices and not too over done! Coco Cay- This is an amazing place! Just so you know, no where does is say it, but they have small sailboats to rent for $45 an hour. We did and had a great time! There are plenty of chairs all over the island and the lunch that is served was great. They had bbq ribs, chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers with salad and side items. It was really good! Disembarking- This was one place I thought they were lacking. They give you colored bands for your luggage and then call you to leave the ship by color. The problem is they call 4-5 colors at one time so everyone is jammed up and you can't get an elevator. Once you are out of the main area, the process is flawless. We were off the ship and getting a taxi by 10 AM.
