My husband and I have cruised many times and several times on Celebrity. Celebrity was our favorite cruise line but we will NEVER cruise with Celebrity again. Boarding was a catastrophe. We were late boarding because the crew was trying to rid the ship of a virus which was spread on the preceding cruise. Very understandable indeed. However, I believe that due to the intensity of this threat, departure should have been delayed a day so as not to put the passengers thru this ordeal for the entire 13 cruise days. But, I believe Celebrity is trying to make every dollar via any means for whatever reason. We scheduled our flight thru Celebrity and had Celebrity's transport to the ship. We arrived at 7:45 AM and the bus was ready. However, Celebrity had the bus drive us around in circles in Barcelona for SIX HOURS! They never explained just saying that we were getting a "complimentary" tour. Please understand that the majority of us had just disembarked from overnight flights from the US and were tired and hungry. The weather was cold so now we were cold tired and hungry. People were annoyed. It was horrible. When they finally took us to the ship there were mobs of people trying to board. We were PRIORITY so we thought we'd by pass the masses. Not. So was everyone else. There was even the beginnings of a fist fight in the boarding area as people tried to squeeze thru the doors. Okay. Now the cruise begins. We were treated like lepers. The railings, elevator buttons, mirrors, computer keyboards were constantly being sprayed with bleach. Clothes were ruined and I was gagging at times from the spray disinfectant.I think you get the picture. Discounting the feeling of a floating leper colony here is our assessment of the rest of the cruise. The whole ship has a strange vibration that is totally annoying. It would vibrate for approximately 5 seconds. Stop for 5 seconds. Vibrate for 5 seconds. It was hard to sleep. One of the reasons we love cruising is being rocked to sleep. I needed sleeping pills on this one to try to ignore the torturous rythmical vibration. The same vibration was felt in the dining room. Evidently its just the way the ship reacts to the stabilizers. The food in the dining room was good. The food in the Island Cafe was terrible. It was very obviously leftovers put together in a not too appealing fashion. The service was not the way it was on our previous Celebrity cruise. There were waiting lines for coffee and back again in line if you forgot to get the sugar. The library was closed during the entire cruise. Room service dining was great and we found that if we didn't leave our Royal Suite we were ok. But the purpose of our cruise was not to be holed up in our room. Back to the suite. We paid handsomely for our Royal Suite accommodations. The room had potential and in its full operation would have been great. We had no cushions thru out the cruise on our deck chairs because of the virus. I would take the cushions from the sofa out on the deck daily and bring them in at night. Sort of like a homeless person the only difference being that we paid thru the nose for it.

I guess I could continue on and on. We will never sail with celebrity again. We were sent gifts by our travel agent they they were billed for and we never received. And, Celebrity changed the itinerary to eliminate the two Morrocan ports and Nassau just after the penalty period was in effect. They said it was because of security threats at the two Moroccan ports however they continued to sell cruises stopping at those ports thru out our time on the ship. Cost savings?? Seems so to me. Never a nod of an apology was made to us. The reaction of customer service was to quote their legal rights which was not the point. We have never sued a sole in our 62 years of life and their reaction was a legal defense. We were just asking to be treated with the courtesy Celebrity had shown us in the past. Another disappointment. To Celebrity we say good bye. And because of this last cruise I say good riddance!
