My daughter and I have both cruised Royal Caribbean and Princess lines, both wonderful memorable experiences. NCL in one word a disgrace.

Arriving to a cabin that had not been clean with urine on the floor of our bathroom mirrors sprayed with soft drink or the like window sills covered in dust no less than shameful. They were extremely embarrassed and expressed apologies, however, we waited a further 3 hrs before our room was ready and then found our safe could not be opened it had it took them 3 days reset it.

Determined to enjoy our holiday and put that all aside, we left our room one day to find a tray in the corridor with vomit on it, we reported it and found it still there the same evening. Unfortunately, it just seemed to go from bad to worse, we waited 1 ½ hrs in line for the supposed freestyle dining, their reason, the had to close half the dining area as they were extremely short of staff for this cruise and suggested in future to come close to 9.00pm and the wait would not be as long. We not surprisingly started to hear numerous complaints from many other disgruntled passengers like ourselves with similar stories. An anniversary couple who got their preordered goodies the last night of the trip, others having waited for a breakfast order one hour and then the meal arrived stone cold. One evening whilst a show was in progress two staff members had a tiff and one stormed off their shift, the other yelling you can't do that, public bathrooms with no toilet paper when I requested some from the dining room they handed me the roll of paper and I had to walk back to the bathroom with it somewhat embarrassing ! When checking out the lineup was extremely long witnessing many passengers abusing the reception staff over the cruise and like ourselves refused to pay the gratuities but told they were compulsory, with the further suggestion to write to NCL and request a full refund. In summing up this was an absolutely horrible experience and would never sail NCL again and hope this may shed some light to others that cruise lines can and do differ enormously so do some homework.
