Sail Date: Dec 2007
Traveled with children

When: We sailed on the Inspiration-Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel ports December 31, 2007 through January 5, 2008 Who: My husband and I are 45 and 46, our three children are 9, 14, 16. Why: I'm not going to fill up line after line with boring details, but hope some of the things I write will help another potential cruiser to make the best out of their own holiday. Our Background: We booked this cruise last minute-only a few weeks before we left. My husband and I have cruised with NCL twice before this Carnival Cruise. We have traveled with our children to Europe, many US states including Hawaii and also Canada.

Getting There: We are from Chicago so we flew in the day before to Tampa to make sure we could get on the ship without rushing. We stayed in the commercial part of downtown Tampa-Marriott Residence Inn (only a ten-minute ride to the dock) because everything was booked solid for some college football game, Wisconsin vs. Tennessee. I suggest booking a hotel closer to the dock-- this hotel was not great.

Embarkation: Simply said, getting on the boat was a piece of cake. The second we got out of the hotel van, Carnival tagged and whisked our luggage away. We showed our passports and printed out tickets and all five of us were on the boat in 10 minutes. The luggage was deposited to our cabin a few hours later.
