My husband & I just returned from Dec. 15th cruise on Carnival Freedom. This was our 2nd cruise with Carnival, but will not be our last. We had a balcony cabin in the portside aft corner of the ship. The cabin was not real big but due to the corner layout, it did not feel cramped at all. We could feel the side to side movement of the ship & it rocked us to some of the best sleep I've had in a long time. The bed was heavenly, great linens, down comforter & super soft pillows that I would have sworn were down, but they weren't! The bathroom was small, but had adequate shelf space for toiletries. There was a small shower stall that created a challenge when shaving legs, due to the ships movement & nowhere to prop your foot up!

Embarkation was very smooth. Upon arrival at the new terminal we were given a number. We were able to sit & wait until the number was called to check in. This eliminated standing in line forever! Very nice. We went to Lido deck for lunch & surprisingly had not problem finding a seat, even with the large amount of passengers.

We had the 2nd seating in the Chic dining room and had excellent tablemates at a table for 4. Our server was wonderful, her assistant was not. He was surly & very slow. One evening our four tables were the last ones in the dining room waiting for dessert. After speaking with the Maitre'd the service improved some. The food was very good and if you didn't like your selection, you just had to ask for something different. The decor was a bit gaudy but oh well. We did go to the Sun King supper club 1 nite & had the best dining experience ever. Well worth the $30. Hubby had the grilled prime rib & it was the best steak we have ever tasted. My New York strip was excellent, but next time I would choose the Prime Rib. The chocolate dessert was to die for!!!
