Traveled a day early as I did not want to have any issues with the planes. Got to the port around 1:30pm and still waited over 90 minutes to get to my cabin. Once there met my steward and cabin was all set up the way it should have been. Having a balcony is the best. Baja deck has a balcony the overlooks the lower to decks, I believe it is the Caribe and Dolphin decks. They have extended balcony's. Not sure if they have bigger cabins but they do lack the privacy. Went to the Horizon Court for lunch. The pizzeria was also open. We were not setting sail until 11pm so I was surprised to see the ship so full. I thought many would be seeing the sites of San Juan before we sailed away. The luggage was sent to my cabin in about 4 hours. The muster drill was later in the day, early evening and very unorganized. But it was short, so I was fine with it. I found the bed to be fine. I was comfortable with the bed and the pillows. The first day is always very casual in the dining area. I thought the food was fair. This is my 10th cruise so I am a bit judgmental. I did not do the first formal dining. I went with the anytime dining, the first time I did this, I loved it!!! Was surprised myself that I did. Just so much better to be able to eat on your own schedule and go whenever you want to. I did the dining room only 4 nights and did the buffet a few nights and room service one night. I was rather laid back on this trip. Can not comment on the shows by the Princess dancers as I did not attend. I did see a show with a hypnotist (?) and it was so so funny! Best thing I have ever seen on a ship! They should keep this lady on the payroll. It was in a small lounge and really need to move her to the main theater. It was standing room only for the 2 shows she did. They take so so many photo's and they are so hard to find. The cruise lines really need to have a better system with the photo's, I gave up on several occasions. You can spend hours looking thru them and then towards the end of the cruise, they place them in baskets for you to go thru. I heard a passenger say she spent 4 hours looking for her pictures! If you don't want the photo, tell them not to take it. I did notice that alot of people did not have the professional photo's taken but were having pictures taken by other guests with there digital cameras. You can see if they come out good right away! Sorry this is so long. Now for the ports of call: Barbados, went to the Malibu Rum tour and beach. The beach was nice or I should say ok. Very few chairs available. Never did the tour. I would not go to this beach again. I would venture outside on my own and find a better beach. You have to walk outside if you want to find someone on your own. St. Lucia, did a tour with a few other guests not with the ship. It was $45 and the entire day. Went all over the island and had lunch at Ti Kaye and hung out at the beach there. Antigua, went with a group to Grand Pineapple Beach Resort. Day pass was $50 and the group split the bus fare, $16 per person. Was a good day. Not very crowded. Tortola, BVI the best stop of the trip. Cane Garden Bay beach. The water is so calm and swimmable. We saw a young dolphin playing at the other end of the beach. Was a good day. Umbrella and chair cost was $11. Ate on the beach, had service from the bar/restaurant. They had service at your chairs. A bit slow but hey it is the Caribbean, everything is slow. Remember you are on vacation. St. Thomas, again, boy I have been here so many times. Decided to do a little bit of shopping, go to an internet cafe (cost $1. for 10 minutes) and went back to the ship to begin packing. San Juan, tour of the Rainforest. Ok, but would not do it again. Just to kill some time before my 5:30pm flight home. All if all, met alot of nice people and had a good time. Getting off the ship is always a hassle but if you can carrying it yourself, you can get off around 8AM. Basically you still need to go thru customs and carry it down stairs, etc. If you cannot carry it all, don't do it. No help is available. I took an early morning tour so I could get off the ship early. Anytime dining is the way to go. Relax, enjoy and do what you want and when you want to. Also, they have spa services available and at a reduced price when you are in port, wait for those days. They have a nice gym also, don't forget the sneakers as they will not let you in without them. They have a casino, which I spent little time in and also don't forget bingo!
