Traveled with children

My wife and I are 48 and we traveled with our kids aged 21 and 15. This is our 8th cruise and the best experience we have had yet. This is not a boring ship like Holland America where bed time is at 10:00 and crowd are older cigar smoking champaign drinking dead heads. This is a noisy, busy, active ship. The food was great, the dining service beyond great and the shows were very entertaining. My complaints are going to sound petty but the teen program was not as organized as some of the others and not as well supervised and they did not play the silly games that kept the kids busy like scavenger hunts etc as on other ships. I saw young teenagers making out while the staff was not even paying any attention so I checked on my daughter alot more then she would have wanted me to but she did meet some good kids and had a blast. It was Thanksgiving Vacation so alot of kids were on board and many of them needed a little more supervision. My wifes complaint is that they did not have an ice machine accessible to guests and the rooms get a little warm in this part of the world. If you are going to Belize with teenagers Book the ATV/ Cave Tubing on line at cave-tubing.com. This was the highlight of our trip. In Honduras we got a tour from one of the guys on the pier. We negotiated a price of $80 but when we got in the cab/Van a tour guide joined us since the driver did not speak english and she worked for tips. She took us to the other side of town since it is cheaper to buy stuff and it was not cheaper. She recommended a massage on the beach from a lady that did a great job and she did but it was her cousin and she charged my wife twice as much we found out latter. These are poor people and I paid big tips to both the driver and the guide because they did contribute a lot to our sightseeing and stayed with us for the day. It was well worth it just keep in the back of your mind that chances are there referrals are likely going to relatives and not the cheapest vendor. It was still the best $150 I ever spent on sightseeing. The only drag is the getting off. 3,500 people trying to go home was one big bottle neck. The cab ride to the port was $8 per car to the port. The cab wanted 10 per person to get back to the airport. I took the rental car shuttle for free but had to wait a long time. This ship is huge, beautiful, fun and I would take this trip again in a second.
