Sail Date: Oct 2007

This was our first Carnival experience after sailing multiple times on other cruise lines. Embarkation procedures were excellent and it is advisable to complete your preboarding information online prior to sailing. Luggage handling was quick but one piece got left at another stateroom due to an error in reading the room number. Glad that person called us to announce that they had that suitcase. They were still looking for 3 pieces of luggage three days into the sailing. A memo was received in all staterooms to look under their beds for missing pieces.

Food was good in the Lincoln Dining Room. However our waiter and assistant never addressed us by our names, which was a first for all former cruises. They were not unfriendly but they always interrupted any conversation that was taking place, without even an excuse me. We think that the pre tipping has a little to do with this. The Scarlett's supper club was a nice experience and with a very professional service. The $30.00 per person charge was a little much compared to the Royal Caribbean's Portofino's fine dining at $20.00.

Cruise Director Chris was loud and very British. American Idol and Simon seems to have given the Brits North American jobs.
