We just returned from one glorious week aboard the beautiful Liberty of the Seas. We traveled with a group of about 1200 passengers with Paula Deen from Food Network. We all booked through the same agency in order to participate in the group activities.

This was my third cruise but my first time sailing on Royal Caribbean. My two previous cruises were with Princess (Caribbean Princess to the Western Caribbean in 2005 and Diamond Princess to Alaska in 2006). This cruise was awesome in every respect. The food was great. We had the second seating at a table for four in the Rembrandt Dining Room. This was our first experience with traditional dining. I was not sure I would like it since on our previous cruises we chose Princess's Anytime Dining that worked well for us. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked it. Our waiter, Keith from Jamaica and assistant waiter, Oscar from Nicaragua were both wonderful. After the first evening, they remembered our special requests without asking. The rolls were always freshly baked and we ate lots of them as they kept bringing around the basket and offering more. Dinners were wonderful and desserts were yummy too. I especially liked the Grand Marnier soufflE. We intended to dine at Chops, but the service and food was so good in the main dining room that we ate all of our dinners there. We had breakfast once in the dining room and the remaining days were either in the Windjammer or room service. Lunches were mostly in the Windjammer. We did have pizza at Sorrento's once. Sorrento's was good. The Windjammer was OK. It was what you would expect for a buffet. We tried to get into Johnny Rockets but they were full.

Our Cabin Steward, Hermann was also very good. He made us those cute little towel animals every night. We had a beautiful adjoining balcony room with my parents. The cabins had plenty of room for us. The bathrooms are small but had plenty of storage space. The bedding was sooo comfy. Having breakfast on the balcony is always wonderful. I love a balcony stateroom. I can't imagine having anything else. To me it is worth a little extra money not to be cooped up in a tiny box of a room. You can enjoy the sights in the privacy of your stateroom. We love getting up to watch the ship pull into port. You can't do that in an inside room unless you get dressed and go up to the deck. A balcony is the only way to go for us.
