Sept. 29 Pride of Aloha Review (LONG)!!

This was our 4th cruise. We are in our 50's and cruised with my husband's sister and her husband and 30 of our new, Celebrator Roll Call Friends.

Pre-Cruise Friday, 9/28 we flew US Air out of Philadelphia to Chicago, O'Hare and only had a 40 min. layover to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 for our United Air to Honolulu. We literally had to run through the terminal, but it can be done and they were boarding our section when we got to the gate...Whew!! Little did we know we'd be on the plane for 13 hours. They had to re-route our flight due to military operations and the plane didn't have enough gas so we had to fly back to Frisco to fuel up and that took another couple of hours. We did land safely, 5 hours late but safe and that is the main thing. We took a shuttle to Thrifty Car Rental and were upgraded to a convertible; things started looking up from here!! We pulled in to Hilton Hawaiian Village just as the fireworks were going off!! We had valet parking and this was $26. Again we were upgraded to a corner suite in the Tapa Towers that was ocean and pool front with a view of Diamond Head. This is a beautiful hotel and we were treated like royalty. My husband has a diamond member status due to his frequent stays with the Hilton. We were also treated to complimentary breakfasts, just another little added perk!!
