Just returned from the Star yesterday with a beautiful day in port. There were six of us in our party, we had a balcony & the other 4 had interior rooms. Now having a balcony I just cant go back to a window. Anyway, the process at the port was seamless. The porters took our bags & off we went to the LINE. Have all papers ready & you should be through in 5-10 minutes. We went to the buffet Market Cafe which has the worst food that I have ever had for breakfast. It will be the same thing every morning. Try to get breakfast by the pool, they will be serving waffles & omelets. Rooms were ready around 1:00, asked room stewart to put our beds together which she did. Room was good size, it was a handicapped room with a walk in shower. Restaurants-Versailles had breakfast there one morning-beautiful view but took 1 1/2 hrs to receive food Never went back son/girlfriend ate dinner one evening had horrible service & food never went back. Le Bistro- had 25th anniversary dinner served-wonderful service try the lobster/scallop martini, onion soup, beef tenderloin if you can best service Teppanyaki-had to wait 1/2 hr with a reservation-maybe they needed extra time to set up the table wonderful food also had steak, chicken, shrimp well worth the 20.00pp Cagneys-steak to die for alot of food again well worth the 20.00pp Agua-had dinner twice great service & food both times can wear jeans too.

The Grill by the pool-really good hamburgers & fries Blue Lagoon-Really great fish/chips wings & a chinese stirfry you have to set down, order & they will either bring it to you or you can ask for it to go. Order a double on the fish & the wings you won't get many if you don't. A little hectic in this place. Bier Garden-Great view of the pool action, if you smoke you can sit up there. Didn't see any food offered. LaTrattoria-Really good italian food-be really hungry there's alot to eat just wish it had its own restaurant (it is in the buffet) but they do a good job to make it look like a restaurant The six of us had pizza, caesar salad, breaded chicken, make your own pasta (sauce/noodles). Room Service-limited menu, nice presentation, order more than you might eat, small portions, can take up to 1/2 hour to receive. Over all the food on the ship was really good, sad that we had to pay for good food. Beware of the buffet breakfast-by the last day couldn't walk thru there for the smell was overpowering. Have to walk through there to get to the pool area too. We were aft onthe ship so we just walked the hallway till we were midship than went up to the pool to miss the buffet room. Entertainment-hit & miss the comedian was really good on the theater stage but in the spinnaker lounge was so-so. Shawn the magician was also very good, was a good comedian as well. The stage was small so the dancers/singers do not have props, they too did a good job. The ballet team were really good too. Pull tabs for 20.00 were not worth it. Casino will take your money quickly. Ship was very clean, customer service was very good also. Our sons room had a very bad odor in the bathroom & we had the plumber come & pour bleach down the drains to fix the problem. There were no other rooms that they could change to. Alot of complaining on this ship from alot of different people, different ages, etc. We have traveled on many liners & the food & entertainment were not up to par compared to the other liners. We made the best time at the port though. Alcapulco-rented a private yacht, went to the divers, had the divers hang a banner for my youngest son to propose -sarah said yes. Went deep sea fishing, snorkeling, they made us a romantic dinner for our anniversary, balloons, roses, champagne, sunset & a city tour. Wonderful day to remember. Great time to stay till midnight. The city tour at night looking at the bay was beautiful Ixtapa-paid 2.50 each way to ferry to Los Gatos beach, had 1.50 beers at a place about 1/2 down the beach. Sat under umbrellas & nice lounge chairs.Service was really good, check the prices on the menu BEFORE you order paid 5.00 for 5 chips/salsa Not worth that price. Bought iron wood pieces of a dorado & a turtle very good prices make sure you barter for everything. T-shirts for 5.00 is a good price too. Puerto Vallarta-had a excursion to Las Calestas-same boat/tour guide as last year. Wonderful time, great food, funny entertainment. My older son swam out to a floating dock & proposed to his girlfriend in the cove. Cabo-Pretty americanized, sat in a bar in the marina, had a bucket of beers, chips/salsa for 10/00 Beware of the shiny jewelry people-it is NOT real silver it is called alpaca not real BEWARE again barter for everything do not take the first price ever

Last day on ship they had to drain the pool & block off the front of the ship REALLY cold & Really windy spent the day indoors. They have a movie theater but really didn't know when & what was playing Not up to date movies either. The music by the pool was ok at best. Sorry to say that the ship wasn't that great but it really wasn't. I did take advantage of a future cruise with ncl. Not really sure why, maybe a different ship in the future will be better. Had a great time on shore at every port, just the ship lacks in many different areas. Sorry this is so long, hope it helps a few. Can ask me ?s if you like. Leaving the ship-not bad, luggage was ready when stated. Had left our truck at the Crowne Plaza hotel, so we just tossed everything into the truck & was on our way in minutes. Now to just get over land swaying!! Have a wonderful vacation & remember it can be full of memories-you just have to make them yourself! Here's to two engagements & a anniversary.
