We chose the ship for the itinerary which was 10 days with 2.5 days at sea. The itinerary did not disappoint as when we were cruising it was done at a slow pace by the many islands. With that in mind we also picked a balcony which was well worth the price as we watched the sunsets and coastlines at the same time as we were were enjoying snacks from room service. The check in was quick. The balcony room was what we expected as we had researched the room sizes before booking.I can only state that it is not right to complain about room sizes if you don't do the research ahead of time. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The food was okay. Not gourmet but was well presented and never bad. The were 3 speciality restaurants which we ate at and all were different but each was good. The service was excellent in these and the food a notch above the buffet. For breakfast you could get omelets made fresh or eggs any style. Waffles made for you or if you like smoked salmon or pastries it was all available. Sometimes the line ups were long and pasta prepared by the kitchen could be tough but made fresh it was okay. The icecream bar was excellent as was the room service at any time. The was always a barbeque on the deck along with entertainment. We rented a car at each stop on line before leaving. This worked out well and we enjoyed touring the islands on our own. Each island is unique and has lots to see and beaches to relax on or scenic drives to enjoy. Most car rental companies offer free shuttle from the docks to and from their offices.Usually we ended the day with a pool swim and soak in the hot tub.If you were lucky to chose the right bar or lounge for entertainment it could be great or mediocre. All in all we enjoyed the cruise. We went into it knowing it was rated as a 3.5 star so could not be disappointed in the room size or the food. The itinerary, weather and staff made it a 5 star and the rest was what we expected but we were not unhappy.I would recommend a few days in Honolulu before boarding as this gets rid of the jet lag and one is more likely to enjoy the rest of the experience.
