Hi. I apologize for the late review but my hard drive died two days after I got back. 3 of us went. Myself: 48 y.o, DH 47, and DD 21. We flew into Orlando and used CCL transport to the port; which went well. We did have to wait at the airport by the luggage area for about 1/2 hour but that was ok;WE HAD MADE IT TO ORLANDO!! (From Columbus, Ohio)We were very worried about all the delays that had been in the news but were only delayed 15 minutes the morning we left on US air. The shuttle to Port Canaveral was nice and quick. **TIP**: I think I would rent a car next time so we could stop at a liquor store. But, if you are not interested in that, then I would do this again. There were no problems. EMBARKATION: This was not streamlined. This was a confusing mess. This was our 6th Carnival cruise; 9th cruise overall. I just can't give any explanation here, it was a mess. Papers that needed filled out were strewn around the area with other papers. Nothing was organized. We had done the Sail and Sign ahead and all the other e-filing papers ahead of time. All that needed filled out was the Bahamas papers. IF YOU COULD FIND THEM!! **TIP** Bring pens for each member in your party. Look specifically for your Bahamas Import paper. Even when they say you can put your passport away they still ask for it. ON BOARD: Once we got on, things were fine. We checked out our cabin. We had a balcony (rm 6312) which was fine. However, our room safe did not work even though I had brought a different charge card to use it like the boards had suggested. We finally had our room steward "Usa" bring someone up to fix it. We went to Muster drill. WOW!! We've been on 9 of these things and this was the worst!! They fill you eight rows deep of many, many people. Some people were having a hard time breathing in the back.**TIP**: Go late to Muster drill so you get the front lines. SHIP: The ship was clean and colorful. I was worried that it would be outlandish in color but it was not. ROOM: We did not use the bungee cord for the balcony door. It was not needed. We had well enough room for 3 of us. Food: The food was better than I thought it would be. We were going to book the Emerald room (fine dining room for extra $30.00 p/p) but decided not to because the food was so good. We were extremely happy with our table mates. They had matched us well. Casino: We had emailed the Casino manager and he said we could use our card and get credit for money spent at the tables WRONG: ***TIP** You only get credit at the tables when you play $25 or more minimum table play. We were playing for hundreds of dollars at the $10 tables but no credit. We found out too late. MISC: We did pay for the good coffee because we thought it was much better than the stuff they sent to our room. But, the coffee in the dining area is better than the stuff they send to your room. Over all, we enjoyed this cruise but I truly think this is our last Carnival cruise. We booked it because our 21 y.o DD wanted the young, fun thing. The entertainment was kaakaa. Honestly, you pay for what you get. I do not want to insult anyone but I think we will go back to RC, Princess or Celebrity. ***Other tips: We did smuggle. No problem there. Just put it in your checked luggage and put it in a zip lock bag. Debarkation: (SP)We also did the" carry your own luggage". I would do this again. It was so much easier than hunting for your luggage in a sea of suit cases. ***Tie a bright colorful piece of ribbon on your luggage. We were so happy we did this all thru the trip for finding our luggage at the airport. email me at user43147@yaoo.com for more info. Enjoy!!!
