This was our first Princess cruise and we chose the Dawn Princess out of San Francisco as we were already planning to be in town for a Conference. This was the 10 day Alaska roundtrip.

We arrived at the terminal around 11:30 and although it was still busy outside with people waiting for rides, we were greeted quickly by a porter and had our luggage whisked away. Once inside the terminal we went quickly to the check-in, where we were informed our room would be available but might not be completely ready, and that we could board the ship in about 10 minutes time - we were happy everything went so quickly and smoothly!!

Our room was an inside cabin for 3 on Aloha deck and it was surprisingly roomy for a regular cabin. Our cabin steward was adequate, always doing what we asked but no more, he did push our two beds together, and also got us a mattress topper when asked, our room was always clean, towels fresh, and we did get fruit in a bowl as requested. The cabin itself was in good shape although I did notice the public areas of the ship were showing wear, although well kept.
