This was the first cruise for my wife, Deb and I. We are in our late 50's ( I am 4 years older than she) We traveled with our son (27) and Daughter-in-law on their first wedding anniversary (June 10). The neat part of that is that it was also our 35th wedding anniversary!

We live northwest of Abilene, Tx and the kids live in Lubbock. They traveled to our house, then we drove together the 6 hours to Huntsville, where we overnighted in our Daughter's apartment (She is a student at Sam Houston State University). We left Huntsville at about 9 am and drove the 119 miles to Galveston where we had an early Lunch at Landry's Seafood restaurant. Our daughter in law had done the internet work and downloaded a menu in advance, so we had our orders planned in advance. The food was wonderful and since we arrived shortly after 11 am had the place pretty much to ourselves...Relaxing and enjoyable lunch.

We drove to the terminal and left our tagged luggage with a porter, then drove to the E-Z cruise parking lot where we caught the shuttle back. They will also deliver your luggage...advise: deliver it yourself and avoid a big hassle...It was easy and quick and hassle free this way.
