I went on the Carnival Triumph with a friend of mine. We are 28 and 31, single and female. This was my 2nd Carnival Cruise and the first for my friend. But for both of us this was our 3rd cruise overall.

Embarkation: We arrived in Miami Airport shortly after 10am (and it was raining) and decided to forego our Carnival transfers and take a taxi to the port. This was definitely a smart idea as we got to the port really quick and didn't have to wait another hour or so for the first bus to arrive at Miami Airport and then for them to fill it up before it leaves. We were at the port by 10:30 and proceeded to embarkation. We waited on line and almost made it through early embarkation but they stopped it 2 people before us. So then we had to wait on the regular line but once we got through security we were first in line. Security was a breeze and after you check in, get your sail and sign cards, you then wait in chairs before they let you on board. We were on the ship by noon and proceeded to the buffet. The rooms were open at 1:30pm.

Our room: We booked an oceanview cabin and were happy with our choice. In the past I had balcony cabins but the oceanview room seemed a lot bigger to me. The bathroom was a good size with a medicine cabinet. There was shampoo and body wash in the shower and a few free razors by the sink. There was plenty of storage space for clothes. Luckily I brought my own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom would never have come close to drying my hair. I was loving the bed, pillows, and the comforter. It was so comfy that as soon as I laid down I was out like a light! The room had a radio that had 4 or 5 stations that you can play and the TV had some new release movies you can enjoy (that is if you don't want to watch the Carnival channels). Our room didn't have a refrigerator but the cabin steward always kept the ice bucket filled. Dennis, our steward, was really friendly and even if he saw us walking down the hall while he was in a room cleaning he'd make it a point to run out to say hi.
