Background Information My wife and I just took a 7 day cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Pearl. Overall, here's a summary....

THE GOOD 1. the new ship is beautiful; 2. the South Pacific Spa is awesome; and 3. the Lotus Garden and Le Bistro restaurants were great - although they cost extra; and 4. Alaska was a beautiful place and Glacier Bay via cruise ship is amazing.

THE BAD 1. restaurant service was VERY slow at all restaurants except the two listed above; 2. the food quality was hit or miss; 3. there seemed to be an extra charge for everything - unlimited soda was $60 per person, hot chocolate or coffee on deck in glacier bay was $9, photos were $25 each and only a handful of the restaurants were included. we definitely paid $20 upcharges at some restaurants that were more than the meal would have cost off the ship ($20 per person for average tepanyaki?).
