Embarkation was very smooth however Nice is a lot easier as port for embarkation and especially disembarkation due to the fact catching a taxi in Monaco is always very difficult. The people were seated in the lounge and were offered drinks and refreshments the longest waiting time was 15 minutes. The stewardess did introduce herself and did offer French champagne and a selection of special designers soaps - a long tradition on Seabourn. An A2 is a very decent cabin simply without a French balcony. The service in the bars was excellent and every night nice canapes were offered to accompany pre dinners drinks . Even sending for a full portion of caviar was no problem at all. A small ship of the size of Seabourn is not a theatre or a shipping mall , so the strongest points were the great service and the quality of the food. The Belgian chef took good care and especially his chef's dinner was outstanding. it is a great shame Seabourn is willing to pay for the so said creations of American chef Charlie Palmer, especially when the ships are in France or Italy surrounded by the best food in the world.
For a long time Seabourn is offering a long list of free drinks including free French chamapgne -recently the company did change to Nicolas Feuillate not a bad choice for sure. During the meals complimentary wines are offered and it must be said those wines are rather basic. The Seabourn Legend was sailing around the French and Italian coast and with some searching local wines equally priced as the complimentary ones on the ship but of a far better taste easily could be found. The service in the dining room was simply outstanding supervised by a great italian maitre d'h Luca and 4 assistants. Despite Seabourn is 5 starred only 1 formal night was due to happen. Last night a BBQ on deck was organised with ample food and afterwards the people of the entertainment really were great.
