Sorry this review is so late after our sailing; once we got back from our trip, the ordinary day-to-day routine took over, and this is the first chance we have had to write this, almost 2 months after we sailed.

This was our very first cruise, to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We did a lot of research on-line prior to booking the cruise, and decided on Radiance of the Seas because of reviews we read on-line about the ship. We have not traveled alot, so we were a little uneasy about the trip -- not sure what to wear, would it be appropriate, would we be out of place? Husband has an aversion to formal wear, but consented to wear suit and tie for the formal dinners. We have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren, but wanted a ship without a lot of small children, even though we love our grandmunchkins! We also deliberately booked the trip when most kids would be in school. We took advantage of the 55 or over discount, which was a small savings over the regular price.

Embarkation was a breeze. We walked right up to the staff who were handling the embarkation process and we were walking aboard the ship with 15 minutes of the bus dropping us at the curb at the terminal of the ship. We were totally impressed with the cleanliness and lovely surroundings of the ship's common areas. We spent quite some time touring the ship from the 4th level all the way up to the top and marveling at the spaciousness of the common areas and how well maintained they were. Read more
