First, I'd like to frame up my review from the perspective of someone who cruises, yearly.Recently, I'd sailed Princess transatlantic to Europe and to the Baltics but also have sailed NCL,Costa and Celebrity in the Med. This was my 1st Carnival cruise.

Embarkation: Upon arrival in Rome representatives from Carnival gathered us up and off we rode to Civitavecchia a 45 min ride. Carnival embarkation building is new and efficient. We were on board within 15 mins.

Stateroom:What a surprise, the veranda rooms are as large as the mini-suites on Princess. They offered three full size closets, a large sit-down vanity area and additional storage under the large full size sofa. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the wonderful beddings. Hands down the best I've encountered on any ship. Also, the flat screen TVs were exceptional. Warning, bring a electrical strip only one plug in the entire cabin. Also, laundry areas are very small compared to Princess ships. Overall,Excellent.
