This was my husband's, 12 yr. old daughter's and my third cruise---one Mediterranean on Celebrity's Constellation and two with RCCL---Western on Navigator and now Eastern Caribbean. The first two were excellent while this one was very good. We stayed at The Grand Pelican Resort for 4 days pre-cruise. While this was a little off the beaten track, we had a rental car, so it was actually a great place to stay. We dropped the rental off at 10:30 A.M. and got a cab to the port. Interestingly, the cab driver told us that we had to have our passports ready for inspection and he would have to sign a document at the pier security gate. When we pulled up to the gate, a very sleepy (?bored) agent just waved us on without the driver's signature or inspecting our passports! The driver said "so much for security!!"

EMBARKATION was a breeze. We arrived at the port at about 11:00, checked in and were on the ship by 11:45. Our cabin wasn't ready until 1:00P.M., so we went to the Windjammer and had lunch.

Our CABIN, a D1 Balcony, was no surprise since it is the same type of accommodation we had before. We are definitely spoiled for a balcony! For 3 of us the size is quite adequate and there is plenty of storage space. One thing we really like is the overhead pullman for our daughter because there is no sofa bed to trip over. For us, the new bedding was wonderful! Our cabin attendant Renaldo kept our room spotlessly clean!
