Dec. 14-21, 2003 Western Caribbean

This was our second cruise, the first one was on Celebrity's Galaxy to the Southern Caribbean in 1999. The Radiance is, overall, a beautiful ship. We had a category d cabin with balcony on the 9th deck. The room was nothing special, and the bathroom felt especially cramped. But the public areas were all spacious and beautiful with lots of warm dark wood, and brass and marble throughout. We visited all of the bars, lounges and public areas and all were very comfortable.

The food was variable. The formal dining room was disappointing. All of the food appeared mass-produced (which it was, of course), and the menu was uninspired. In contrast, the two specialty restaurants, the Chops Grille and the Portofino, each available for an extra $20 per person, were significantly better. The alternative dining areas, especially the main alternative, the Windjammer Cafe, were better. The Windjammer's buffet style food was plentiful and good.
