We just got back Saturday from the Legend of the Seas out of Tampa on a 7 day Western cruise. This was the first long cruise we had been on since having kids and were a little apprehensive about it. But, we ended up having a great time. Here is our review:

Friday: Drove to Tampa and got in early evening Friday. Boy, I-275 is bad with traffic at rush hour! Make potty stops before here if you drive. We Pricelined a hotel and ended up staying at the Wyndham Westshore for $75. Not too bad. It was a very nice hotel. We ate dinner at The Melting Pot - Hey we were on vacation already, right??

Saturday - Valet parked our car at the terminal and went right up. There was no wait for our line. It was about 11:30. We had adjoining cabins 3562 and 3564. After checking in and getting our seapass cards, we were on the boat by noon. We got the kids wristbands for adventure ocean and then went up for lunch. The ship was full, so my hope of an upgrade was dashed :) The Windjammer had a traditional cruise lunch spread. We all found something to eat and by around 1 we went to find our rooms. We had a fabulous room steward - Rohan. However, after cruising Disney last year - boy we had a room size reality check. I am really glad we did two rooms, but even then they were pretty small. We had early seating dining and so we met our tablemates who turned out to be a lovely mother and daughter from New York. My son and her daughter clicked immediately, so that was very nice. No kids club on the first night, so we all went to the show. It was a comedian. My husband and I thought he was funny, but the 6yr old and the 3yr old were kind of bored.
