Enjoyed our cruise on the Sun. Embarkation was very smooth. Ship appeared to be in fine overall condition. Loved the size as it was easy to navigate. Had a Deck 10 balcony (0006). The room was very nice and in a good location. Cabin steward(ess?) Daryl was extremely attentive. Ate breakfast and lunch at the buffets, always sitting at the Great Outdoors. Dinners in the main dining rooms. Thought the service was better in the Seven Seas. Food was pretty good in the MDRs, but we are not foodies. Right side of the menu stayed the same, left changed daily. Did not go to any of the shows. Enjoyed the lounge acts in the Windjammer and Observation lounges. James was an amazing piano player (although not a fabulous singer, loved when his fiancée sang), and Into the Drift was also fun to listen/dance to. Trivia always fun. Husband and I both noted the extreme friendliness of all staff...friendliest we've encountered. Cannot speak to excursions. Main aim was relaxation without a schedule to keep. Walked around the town areas and then back to boat. Our only complaint was slow bar waiter service. I think it's because every drink needs two receipts printed out, one signed and returned, even on UBP...waste of time and paper. Didn't have to do this on Celebrity. Best bartender service was at the Great Outdoors, Dmitri and Reynaldo. Chose Easy Off Debarkation. Got in line around 7:30am. They started letting people off at 8:05am. We got through customs, grabbed a curbside shuttle, and were at TPA by 8:50am. If you are looking for a large, busy ship, the Sun is not for you. However, it was a great ship for a relaxing vacation.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Cabin was your average balcony cabin. Clean, adequate size for two. Bathroom small, like other ships this size, but manageable. Our cabin stewardess Daryl was efficient, friendly, and unintrusive. Even though we were very far forward, we only felt the ship's motion on the final sea day, but it was quite rough and windy. Still we did not need motion sickness remedies. Location was great. 3 rooms down from the stairs, one flight up to pool deck. Always very quiet. Would choos this cabin again.
