We were debating between the Sun and the Epic - the price was a little more for the Sun but it was more convenient for us to cruise out of Tampa. We were so disappointed and quite perturbed when we saw the difference in the ships when docked side by side in Cozumel. The Sun is an old, small ship, which needs to either be put to rest or updated. At a minimum, Norwegian should offer cruises on this ship at a reduced rate to accommodate for the lack of amenities, like Carnival does for their cruises out of Charleston to the Bahamas. The food was sub par, and the service slow. Deck chairs were sparse and in need of repair. The only good thing about this trip were the ports we visited, but you can do that on any Cruise line, and in fact, I have done a very similar Western Caribbean cruise with Carnival on one of their newer, nicer ships, and we enjoyed the Carnival one much more, had better service, nicer rooms, and better food. Would not recommend this ship!
