Our cruise began under Murphy's Law. We left Miami at 4 p.m. and returned to Miami by 8 p.m. There were problems that were caused by a sailboat, or the story was told. We should have known then that it was going to be the trip from hell. Where do I begin...one bed, there were supposed to be two. We had to wait 2 hours and finally go to the front desk to get it done. Customer service promised to come to our cabin to separate the bed and to fix the safe. After numerous phone calls we finally had to go to the front desk. The cabins are so tiny and cramped I have no idea how anyone functions. There is barely enough room to turn around in the shower. The rafts bang on the side of the ship all night long and there is some pounding of the inside pipes that lasts about 2 hours every night. In addition, the air conditioner seems to work only when it wants to at night. The toilet had to be fixed because it wasn't flushing. The amenities are non-existent. The room service menu is ridiculous. There is an up charge for everything. One Martini costs 13.76 with the tip added automatically. A mani/pedi costs 148.00 and they automatically get over $20 as a tip. The dinner package is a waste of time. The Ocean Blue is the only really good restaurant and we only got 20% of that. The service was horrible. We had one waiter that literally ran to the tables. It was not relaxing. I have cruised many times and a month ago on the Norwegian Sun. I will never sail on the NCL ships again. I love Holland America, spacious, courteous, the food is 4 star. It was awful on this ship and the neighbors were loud!!!
The cabin was unusually small, the beds were like twin size. The shower was a joke. We had to write letters to get the cabin cleaned and the refrigerator re-stocked. The carpet was dirty. We had to keep asking them to clean the balcony. There is no table in the room for room service. I hated that room. We could hear our neighbors screaming at each other.
