Embarkation: Pretty smooth, New Orleans is an easy port to get into. We had to wait a while to get on the ship because we arrived a bir later than we planned.
Ship: The ship is nice and well appointed, with that being said, we prefered the Sunshine. We missed the Blue Iguana Taco/Burritio Bar and Guy's burger joint. Since we were on Spring Break, you had to get out early to get a chair near the pool. The water in the pool stayed too cold for me to ever get into it, bu that did not scare my kids (6 & 7) from swimming. You may want to know that there is a lot of salt in the saltwater pool. Our room was nice and kep very clean. We were on deck 10 and just a few steps from the pool, an awesome location.
Food: Standard buffet breakfast, head to the back it is usually less crowded at the omlet station. Lunch-very eh to me (probably why I only gained 3.5 pounds) Dinner- we had anytime dining and usually ate around 6. The fare was good. I was really happy with the vegetarian options. Considering that I normally don't choose vegetarian options, it was a nice option. My hubby and I did the Chef's dinner one evening---one of the best experiences ever--maybe even better than Remy on DCL. It was a 3 hour dinner and I tried so many things I would never try. If you have the money, I reccommend it.
