After reading so many bad reviews before sailing on the Caribbean Princess, we were a bit concerned about our upcoming Spring Break cruise vacation. Turned out to be a great cruise and we really loved the ship itself.

Traveling with me was my wife of 16 years and 10 year old son. We live in the Orlando area, so it was just a short 3 1/2 hour drive to the port. We used Park N Go, which worked out well and was much cheaper than parking at the port. The ship was in pretty good shape overall. A lot of previous reviewers have found it to be a bit worn, but they obviously have never been on one of Carnival's Fantasy class ships. Everything seemed pretty clean and in working order. No strange smells or anything like that. Sure, there's a lot of seniors on board, but that wasn't really an issue for us. It reminded me a lot of Holland America, but no big deal.

Our cabin was a standard balcony mid-ship on deck 11 (Baja). It was a bit on the small side, but was comfortable enough. Our cabin steward installed some egg crate foam toppers on the beds which made them soft enough to sleep on. The tiny bathroom and shower were small but adequate. The water pressure and temp in the shower was actually really good. Cabin Steward, Edgar, was excellent. He made sure we had plenty of ice and towels. and kept the room tidy.

Cabin was small but big enough for us. The balcony was nice and we got plenty of use out of it.
