This was our honeymoon cruise. I had previously cruised with Carnival 2 times prior and this was my first NCL cruise. This was my wife’s first cruise. We originally booked an aft facing balcony room but we got an upsell email from NCL to upgrade to The Haven for $1,000 extra per person. I will say this…it was the best $2,000 I ever spent! We had a 2 bedroom villa with 2 bathrooms and that came in handy numerous times! In The Haven, you get your own butler, concierge and private lounge areas. There was a portion of the 18th floor that is only for Adults and no screaming children. The Haven guests have their own private restaurant and lounges. This was a first for me coming from Carnival and it will be hard pressed to go back to the regular way of cruising. Below I will detail our experience day by day. Also, note we purchased the Ultimate Dining Package and the Ultimate Beverage Package.

Day 1

Embarkation: As a Haven guest you are taken to a different check in room to get your card keys and then taken to a private area for embarkation. We got to the port at 11:00 am and was on the boat by 12:00. We ate at the Epic Lounge Restaurant and the food was very good. We got to our room around 1:00 pm and was pleasantly surprised by the room and layout. Upon arrival to the room we had champagne chilling and strawberries waiting. First class all the way so far!

Awesome room! I'd recommend cruising doing The Haven! First class from the time you get on the ship until the time you leave. We had the 2 bedroom villa with 2 bathrooms. The 2 bathrooms came in handy more than anything. Also, the floor to ceiling glass in the main bathroom was awesome! Nothing better than showering with the ocean to look at! I was disappointed when I got home and didn't have my view any longer. Our butler brought goodies every day.
