This was our first cruise with Celebrity so was not sure what to expect. Well...things started really badly with check in at Hong Kong. We spent hours in a line waiting to be checked in. There was no organisation, no designated lines for priority boarders, the process was so slow and frustrating. Celebrity staff did not seem interested. One good thing...we met some lovely people while waiting.
Once on board things changed. The staff were so friendly and only to happy to assist you. This was some of the happiest and friendliest staff we have ever met on a cruise. Dining at the Metropolitan was great, good menu, great service. The Oceanview café was pretty good. One of the best cruise buffets I've experienced. Loved the pasta made to order, and the fresh cooked meat, pork, chicken and fish bar. Food areas were always clean and tidy with staff there to assist if needed. We also had dinner at the Olympic Restaurant. It was very good with great food but I don't think it was worth $100 extra for 2 people.
Ports of call were great as were the ships tours. We really loved all the Taiwanese ports as well as Da Nang and Ha Long Bay Vietnam. The ship itself is looking a bit old and needs a little bit of TLC, but this did not spoil our experience at all, overall we had a great time on the Millennium.
Great cabin, good location, quiet, comfortable and in good condition. Not to far from lifts/stairs. Very comfy bed. Adequate storage space.
