My wife and I won this cruise as part of a promotional package after we attended a time-share presentation in Orlando. Overall, we had a wonderful time, but since we're both visually impaired (and my wife totally blind) and I have some walking difficulties, the ship was poorly prepared to deal with disabilities. They would not let us board unless we could convince them we could manage without much help. Luckily, the ship was fairly easy to navigate, and the staff was helpful once we boarded, especially on the Bahamas bus trip excursion, but there are some difficulties with too-steep gangway ramps, a confusing dining room setup where you have to get in line at 9 and then go down to 8 to enter the Stellar Prime restaurant, and buffet food labels that are in too-small print. Aside from a jambalaya that had too-soft rice and that was lacking in flavor, the food was very good, especially the seafood and breakfast items. I had a ceviche that was out of sight and loaded with juicy shrimp, and the corned beef hash was better than I can find in most diners. The theatre shows were alright, though a little visually-oriented for us with all the acrobatics. We really enjoyed the Elton John impersonator; though his voice wasn't much like Elton John's, he was fun and his piano playing was excellent, with a wide repertoire of classic rock tunes and ballads. There was another lounge with a country band, though the lead singer's voice wasn't that great, and it was a bit too loud. Bar drinks were quite reasonable compared to other ships I've been on, though service can be a bit slow, and they don't try to nickel and dime you with premium food items. Checking out was fairly smooth, and they had a good selection of Bahamas excursions. Internet access was surprisingly fast and reasonable at $6 a day.

Cabin Review

Cabin outside room

Cabin is small, and we wish there was a balcony option on this ship, but the layout was easy to work with if you have lots of luggage. One big problem we ran into is that the light switches are too close to the part of the bed where you rest your head. One day I was leaning back to read, accidentally bumped the switch, it came loose, and I got an electric shock from one of the hanging wires. Luckily I was fine, but this was a bit scary. Usually I see them higher up or on the sides of the bed.
