This was our 1th0 cruise with NCL and we were really excited about The Pride of America. The ship is beautiful! And the Itinerary was great. Loved the two days in Maui and Kauai. We rented cars in every port and that was great. This is a great way to see Hawaii! We were a party of six and never had trouble in the main dining rooms. Due to the overwhelming response to the "Ultimate Dining Package" it was almost impossible to get dinner reservations in those dining rooms for 6 people. We could never get reservations for 6 until 9:00 pm any of the nights on board. That was disappointing since we would have liked to dine together. The food was good in all the restaurants that we tried.

Now for the bad......the service on this ship was not up to par with the standard that NCL has set on their International ships. We were surprised that there were no "happy happy washy washy" people greeting you at the buffets or when you got on the ship in port. That was very alarming to us. We had oceanview rooms and when we went to our rooms they were not very clean. Surprised us because that was never the case on any other ship. We noticed the service in the dining rooms was not as good as on the other ships, and the wait staff was not friendly at all. The only restaurants we felt that the service was good was the Specialty Restaurants. The staff at the Guest relations desk was absolutely rude..instead of greeting me when I went to check on our room charges, the attendant said "Where did you get that twang?" I was shocked to say the least. WE have always been treated with respect on all the other ships.

WE talked to other passengers and they felt the same way. The service by American Workers was just not as good as the international workers provide. It was a shame. This ship is the "Pride of America"....but the service did not live up to that name.

Do not get outside rooms on the 4th floor port side. When docked overnight in Maui the bumpers on the pier make loud noises all night!
