We have sailed with Norwegian a few times as well as other cruise lines. We have always loved NCL. Food was great and we loved the freestyle. It was nice to have meals when you chose to after a day off the ship or sunbathing. The old standard way was to be assigned the early dinner at 5:00 pm or the late at 8:00. We needed this vacation so badly after having a very stressful few months and a very cold winter. We boarded on Feb. 27th for a 10 day Caribbean cruise. Well, 1,500 French Canadians were booked on this one too. I have never met such rude inconsiderate people anywhere nevermind on any cruise. They blocked the corridors and would not move for you, were loud, saved seats for their many friends at the pool and theater. Day three was the first day it was warm and sunny. Husband and I never were able to sit in the sun as they owned the ship. Many nights as we went to dinner we were told there was an hours wait and were given a lighted buzzer just like your local Olive Garden etc. This is supposed to be FREESTYLE DINING! Later learned these Canadians made dinner reservations at time of booking. WHAT!! What about the rest of the passengers who are paying to cruise with you for the advantage of eating when THEY want NCL?? One day at the pool there were many empty seats so I sat on one to be close to the bathroom and Garden Café as I have Spinal Stenosis and it hurts to walk too far. Out of nowhere I am being screamed at in French because their friends were coming and they were going to sit there. I looked for someone who worked there for some help. No one. They do not monitor anything nor care. Food was not very good, NCL has become the low end of cruises. Went on a Carnival cruise last year. They are the ones that are supposed to be low end. Well I don't think so. Food and service were great. All in all this was my worst cruise because NCL's bottom line is profit. And the profit from a pack of 1,500 rated higher than the rest of the paying passengers who also worked hard for their yearly vacation.
