I have been on several cruises in the past ,not always NCL, and a couple and I had made reservations on the Epic for a Western Mediterranean 7 day Cruise in November of 2014 through Norwegian themselves.

Come February, we were changed from the original dates to a week later without being informed or asked our permission. This was due to a change in the dry dock of the Epic. I understand safety and unexpected repairs, however on contacting the cruise line I was informed that we could choose any other cruise we wanted, (really, like at this early date we couldn't find any other cruises and this was a favor from them?). They also stated that they would pay for any transfer of the plane tickets, (like it would actually cost them something and they don't have some deal going with every airline out there.) They also offered a whole $50 in on board spending. Totally underwhelmed. A whole $50!

I had already planned with a different friend and made reservations for 3 weeks prior to sailing, an adventure through Europe to include airlines, sleep trains, hotels and reserved a private tour guide for Normandy and The Bulge. It included a concert in Vienna of Mozart's requiem 200 feet from his place of death. This was a trip of a lifetime for me. All of which centered around this cruise.

Admittedly, I love the little studio cabins for solo travelers
