Being a first time cruiser, I would have to say this ship was not at all what I was expecting when I signed up for a "relaxing" vacation, and it will probably be my first and last cruise.

Positives of this cruise: The crew are very welcoming and were super nice. Got to see 3 out of the 4 islands for this trip - Turks and Caicos was absolutely stunning. Guy's burger joint was my go-to on this ship, burgers were phenomenal. Definitely spend the extra money for a balcony room, my friends all decided to do interior and were complaining all week. Did the catamaran (with Chukka) excursion at Turks and Caicos, water was beautiful and saw lots of fish.

Negatives: Had to wake up extremely early in order to get seats on days at sea, which was a huge annoyance due to people tying their towels around chairs to save seats and then just walking away (this happened all week and the crew on the lido deck really did nothing to stop this from happening). Pools were a 50% chance of being open whenever you wanted to use them, which sucked because it was extremely hot out. Half of the hot tubs were under maintenance or were completely closed for unknown reasons. The boat in general is just small, and it's extremely evident on days at sea, be very prepared to be surrounded by people constantly. Being stuck waiting in lines was the theme of the week for this cruise. Whether it was waiting line for the buffet, getting off the boat (extremely unorganized) or getting back onto the boat (even more unorganized) it was a constant pain and really ate up precious time of the vacation. Rooms were clean but definitely seemed outdated (reminded me of a cheap NJ shore motel) and in serious need of a revamp. Food was a it could be good or completely horrible situation. Be prepared to send back steaks if you do not like them pink at all. Dress code was not taken seriously during all dinners whether casual or formal, I watched multiple people wear bathing suits or even jeans, when the carnival claimed it wouldn't allow people in if they were not dressed up to par. Drink package was overpriced. Be prepared to spend an arm and a leg on excursions through carnival, places like the Bacardi factory in Puerto Rico through the cruise was $55 when in reality (from being their this past may) if you take the Ferry across to Catano (which is extremely close to the docking area) its a 50 cent ride (one way) and the taxi service to Bacardi factory is $3.00 (one way), as well as tickets into the factory itself was $10-12.00. It's a huge rip off to go through the cruise line, and they will claim they have the cheapest and best price, but it is absolutely not true. (Same applies to the Fort in Puerto Rico, ridiculous inflated prices online but in person are ten times cheaper) Don't buy into it and do your research before booking one because you will save yourself spending money.
