Sail Date: Mar 2015

This was my first time on Oasis of the Seas. I had family who sailed on it previouly tell me that even thought there are almost 6000 other guests it doesn't feel crowded. I guess "crowded" is subjective. I thought the ship felt crowded often especially on the Promenade, around the pool, and in the bars for cocktail hour just before dinner. Overall the ship was well laid-out, clean and well maintained.

We were in a stateroom on deck 9 and had a window overlooking Central Park. The room was neat and clean. Storage was plentiful for the 3 of us. The safe is small and barely fits an Ipad and won't fit a computer. The pull-out sofa was OK for my daughter to sleep on but wouldn't be comforable for an adult. Even though the room had a window it was useless since you needed to close the shade whenever you changed. If you didn't it would be easy for people in rooms on the other side of Central Park to see in. I would consider this type of room to be the same as an inside stateroom and not worth paying extra.

We dined in the Grande restaurant at 8:30. The service was very good but the food was just OK most nights. The food was prepared adequately but just didn't have good flavor. One night we all had steak and each one was tough and had gristle throughout. This was my second cruise with RCI and I definitely think the food is better on Celebrity. We ate at Windjammer only once and the food was horrible. I asked a waiter for a glass of lemonade and he brought me a glass that was obviouslty dirty with brown specs stuck all over the inside. Best part of my meal at Windjammer was the mustard and relish I had with a hot dog. We ate at their Mexican restaurant, Sabor, which has A la Carte pricing. Food was very good. The guacamole prepared table side was great, as was the chicken taco and chicken tortilla soup. The Simply Perfect margarita they serve is excellent. We also had burgers at Johnny Rockets. They were good but nothing special. Breakfast in the main dining room was good but again nothing special. However, I don't recommend having the scrambled eggs at the buffet - they were terrible. The roast beef sandwiches at the Park Cafe were excellent but it can be very hard to find a place to sit and eat.

Cabin Review

See above but not worth the extra price over an inside stateroom.
