This was our second Celebrity cruise, the first on the Summit. While the ship itself seems to need a bit of rehab - large sections of stained carpet between the pool and the Oceanview Cafe most notably, everything else was top notch. We enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and lunch and always had a wonderful dinner in the MDR. On our cruise, they had Top Chef night and of course I selected the minestrone soup from my top favorite - Carla. Yummy memory! We also liked the evening shows put on by the Celebrity Summit singers and dancers, but didn't particularly care for one of the comedians who was too sarcastic for our taste.
The itinerary was great, sampling 5 islands over 7 days. It does get a bit dizzying, so alternating days of active and passive excursions is highly recommended for those not in tip top, active shape. We especially loved snorkeling the Champagne Reef at Dominica and shopping on St. Thomas. Frederikstad, on St. Croix, seemed like a lovely town, but we were there on a Sunday and much of it was closed. Later in the afternoon, after church, more was open. It would have been nice if the ship had arrived later and stayed later to compensate for this.
Overall, a really nice cruise.
We absolutely loved this stateroom. It's immediately after the balcony cabins and the area that would have been a balcony is enclosed making extra livable space. The table is located there with an extra chair. You also get a sofa that's a hide bed, has adequate room to pull out and can sleep two. It's also quiet as the officer cabins are on the other side. It's convenient to the pools, the theater and the casino. Our cabin stewards, Mario and Acajoe were great.
