This was our eleventh cruise, the fifth on a Norwegian ship. There are write-offs with each ship...the first we were on was the Majesty out of Boston to Bermuda (we did that cruise twice, one to see Bermuda, the second for a photo trip). The Majesty was a good ship, a smaller size, but almost every suite had a blocked view. Our fourth cruise was on the Norwegian Dawn out of New York. That ship was just about the best one we were on. Our latest ship, the Breakaway, was just simply too large to manage. Finding the library was an all-day chore, there were very few announcements from the captain (I enjoyed hearing his voice from time to time, but not on this ship. It was rare). The wait for dining in premium areas was crazy...lines formed early and often. No matter where we went, there were lines. The show "Legally Blonde" was great, but after the dinner and show we went to the top deck to relax with a drink, and found that all the chaise lounges had been rounded up and stacked. My husband swims a lot, and was usually told to leave the pool well before the 10 p.m."curfew". Most nights the pool closed at 9:30, so we simply wandered around a bit. It seems to be a good ship if you have children with you and want to experience all that stuff, but we're both retired and decided that Holland America (Princess) is the cruise line most suited to us. No lines, no wait for elevators, no need for a GPS to find your suite. Oh, I do have to give a HUGE shoutout to the Garden Café - they never failed to fill in the hunger gaps those long lines at the restaurants caused. I won't even mention the debarkation process - it is ridiculously tedious and strenuous. It took us more than two hours to get off the ship, waiting in line, sigh...yet again. No more NCL.

The cabin was wonderfully updated, clean and efficient. The bathroom was amazingly large.
