We just returned from a quick spring break trip, and overall had a good experience. This was our first cruise out of Jacksonville, and we selected it because we were on a tight budget. Before we went, we read many reviews, and they were mixed as this one will be.
Embarkation: This was our first time cruising out of Jacksonville, and it was really good. Hotel was close to airport and ground transportation was fast and efficient, Though many others commented about rude staff, we encountered only professional and friendly staff. We arrive early, and the process on was quick. Doing all the documents at home prior to arrival really sped up the process. We did observe some people struggle because they did not have passports.
Dining: As always, we overate and there were many options. One change we noticed since our last cruise was that the Lido deck dinner was the same as the dining room meals. We have come to expect high quality food in the dining room, but were disappointed a bit- don't get me wrong- we ate well- just not as much selection and quality as we have seen in the past. Few of the entrees were memorable. However, Atilla and Csilla were great and interactive.Always enjoy eating with strangers who become friends by the end of the week. Pizza bar great, as was the daily salad bar. The only free drinking options were lemonade flavored drink and ice tea which got old after the first couple of days. The bar sodas and drinks are very expensive.
Good housekeeping, great animal towels which the kids loved, and a super friendly staff.
