If I would have known this was going to be the last cruise before they were taking this ship into dry dock I would have booked on another trip. The ship is old and beat up. The Serentity Deck was very cool but the pool was closed all trip because the smoke stack was blowing chunks of black junk all over the back of the boat. Most of the lounge chairs needed to be covered with a towel so your clothes didn't get all black. Large portions of the actual deck were coming up and were blocked off with cones and yellow tape. Our room upon arrival was gross putting it mildly. There were wrappers from the previous guests on the desk along with what looked like margarita salt all over too. The worst part was there was hair and all sorts of other unkown gunk in the bathroom and on the small table and table base. I called out room stuard and they re-cleaned our room for us. The food was great. The steak house is a must visit. The wait staff on this ship is horrible. I have never been on a cruise and not remembered our waiters name. I don't remember what our waiters name was nor either one of the assistants that attempted to help us. We spent a week tracking them down to get waters filled at dinner every night. That is unheard of on our previous cruises. They would take our order deliver the food and that was it. No visiting or anything else. Breakfast in the dining room was a joke. I asked for coffee and OJ and that is what I got one time. No refills or checkins after that because our waitstaff was to busy talking off to the side. First brunch I ordered the steak and eggs. They were the best ever till half way through I found a couple large hairs in the middle of the plate. It took 20 minutes to get the waiter attention and when I showed him the hairs he just looked at me and walked away. Didn't even say sorry and offer a new meal. I am sure upgrading this ship to 2.0 will fix the cosmetic problems but that doesn't help the lack of customer service issues. I can only make these comparisons to the other great ship we have been on Carnival with which was the Conquest out of New Orleans in 2012. Best waiter ever was June from Indonesia. Carnival please bring this ships standards up to yours so others don't have to deal with what we did. I will give Carnival props on getting us onboard in Cabo. Do to 2 plane mechanical problems we missed the boat out of Long Beach and embarked in Cabo.

Cabin was old and dirty. They did get it clean and kept it that way afterwords. Great spot on the boat though.
