This was our first cruise, so consider that with this review, as some of my comments probably address cruising in general.

My wife and I brought our 2 boys - 7 and 10. Getting to the ship was easy enough, a friend drove us to the drop off point at around 1:15pm - and it was easy to just hand off our luggage. The wait though to get screened and processed seemed long, over an hour (90 min?), maybe that's normal when trying to get 3,000 people on board. Our room was ready right away which was nice. It was an interior room on deck 2, and we knew it would be a little small, so that was expected. The ship is 13 years old, so the bathroom is a little dated, but clean and decent size. The overall ship design could be modernized a bit.

The week we were on happened to also be spring break for many college kids. So the vibe was more party than fun, but I guess Carnival has to cater to all its guests. But trying to entertain drunk 21 year olds along side seniors and young families like ours didn't really work out. My kids were a little intimidated to go in the pool (too small btw) or hot tubs next to college kids. The ship could have accommodated families better; there is a pool and 2 hot tubs which are adult only, it would have been nice to have 1 hot tub or smaller pool reserved for families.
