Having not cruised in more than 20 years, I was eager to experience the newer ships and the flexible dining. Norwegian did a wonderful job with everything, however a computer malfunction delayed our departure a few hours. That time was made up on our journey to Cartagena and everything was on time the whole rest of the cruise.
The staff and crew diversity is one thing I admired and enjoyed throughout the trip. Over 60 different countries are represented by these employees and everyone seemed eager to share about their homeland and their families, which was interesting for me.
Our room on deck 9 with a balcony was ideal. Since the weather was so perfect, we were able to sleep with the balcony door open and listen to the waves. Our room steward did a marvelous job of keeping things clean, neat and enjoyable. We looked forward to 'coming home' each night just to see what new towel creature was waiting to greet us. One evening we came in and nothing was on the beds or in the chairs and we thought Jenifer must have run out of time and didn't make a 'greeter' that night. Then we noticed the washcloth bat hanging from the ceiling vent to delight us and make us chuckle! What simple pleasures.
It was wonderful and situated perfectly on the port side aft of the ship, same floor as the internet cafe and we were close to the stairs/elevator. The balcony was so wonderful for happy hours and dolphin spottings.Everything was in good repair. My traveling friend requested an 'egg crate' for her bed which helped her.
