Mariner of the Seas is a fine ship. Many reviews have testify to this, so I do not need to repeat the good comments about this ship. My only note about this ship is that it does not have a child friendly pool so the children make the whirlpool crowded. Perhaps in the next dry-dock Royal can do something about it?

Now, on to the cruise.

This is a very short cruise and very much port intensive. We only have one sea day. As such, many activities feel "out of time". The ice rink is very small they need to have four shows. Unfortunately only two shows can be done on the sea day and the other two has to be done on a port day, when passengers are actually doing excursion (or has to shorten their excursion in order not to miss the show). Even on the sea day, Royal only sells the Walk for Wishes T-shirt and not doing the actual walk itself. I don't know why.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Good cabin in a good location. Near to the aft elevator so Windjammer is just a button away. Nice for getting some hot drinks for early breakfast.Royal Promenade is a floor below, and so is Cafe Promenade (night snack, anyone?).Warning : This is a connecting room so unless you want to connect with the next cabin (6346), you may want to avoid this.
