This was our second cruise, but first 7 day cruise. After last year's bad winter, we decided we're going to go somewhere warm for at least a week every February. My brother went on the Jewel last February, with different stops, so we decided to give it a try this February. We booked it 11 months in advance.

For the most part, we found the Jewel to be a beautiful ship. Yeah, you can see it's age in certain areas, the worst being the putt putt course. But overall, we thought she looked pretty good. We heard she's going into dry dock next year for a complete overhaul.

The main reason we picked this particular trip, was because we liked the idea of 5 stops and only 1 day at sea. We are the type of people that enjoy getting out and doing things, not hanging out on a ship all day. Plenty of time for that in the evenings. The down side to the 5 ports, is we had less time in port then ships that have less stops. Oh well, it's a trade off.

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

I would choose this room again. No point in paying extra money for a room that I'm not going to spend much time in. I felt this size was adequate. The service we received was great. The fact that the room was in the middle, away from the elevators and stairs made it a quiet location. There was only 1 time that I heard noise above us (which is about where guest relations was).
