How could we not take the offer of a 14 night cruise as well as 4 days pre cruise in Dubai and then 2 extra nights in Hong Kong post cruise? The line up was a winner for sure at a good value. Anything that went really wrong was due to weather, plane issues or just "life" so no complaints. We would take this itinerary again in a heartbeat BUT with our eyes a bit more wide open.
We had sailed on the Millennium the year that the ship was launched.....and coming "back" was probably a mistake. Though Celebrity says that the ship has been "solsticized" we really don't see what that means except that is has the QSine restaurant (ipad ordering, small plates and no attention to detail so be prepared to site alongside dirty dishes and tables for your whole meal) and the almost 24 hour crepe restaurant (now $7 pp vs. $5). The railing to our balcony was literally rusting so badly that you could move it around. The bathroom sink had to be "unplugged" 3 times - once when we just got on board and two other times. The towels were frequently so thread bare that you could see through them. Bumps and bruises are evident on every wall, surface, etc. And the exterior of the ship shows every single year of its age - wrinkles, rust and bumps. BUT that was all okay really as the shipped sailed to every port just as planned with no safety issues.
My reason to warn you to keep your eyes wide open is that the attitude on the ship is now even more blatant about spend, spend and spend. BTW yes we have been on newer Celebrity ships of recent.
Functional; railing on balcony needs repair. Sink needs replumbing. Water nice and hot.
