The ship is tired and badly in need of an upgrade. There were sewage odours towards the end of the trip. Celebrity was constantly trying to sell something whether in the daily info, in front of the 10th floor buffet, on TV or as part of the on board activities. It felt like being on a beach in Mexico. There were simple things that they could have done like not have torn menus, take finger prints off molding and door handles (they were sticky too) and have clean plates. The staff were generally good except for one restaurant manager who was combative when asked about dealing with allergy issues and the clean plates issue. We had poor response from guest services on issues. We also found the coordination between the ship and their land office disorganized as arrangements made ahead of time were not honoured. For example, we were to have select dining and prepaid the gratuities only to be assigned to a 6PM dinner time without any choice. The food was generally OK but we were disappointed that it was almost all brought in from the US. We would have liked to have had more of the local products; especially the lamb and beef.
The room was OK and the staff were there regularly. We had sufficient storage space. The cruise was billed as upscale but it did not feel that way. There was no real benefit to concierge class.
