This was our 6th cruise, 4 with Celebrity, 1 with Princess & now RC Allure of the Seas. We were so excited to try a ship of this size with all of the many features it offers. I must say, however, that we were a bit disappointed in a few areas.

Embarkation was fine, we arrived around 11:30 am & were on-board by 1pm. Maybe we're a bit spoiled but there was no champagne or mimosa greeting like Celebrity. In fact, no one really greets you. Our cabins were not ready as the sailing prior to ours had Norovirus outbreak (over 200 cases) so extra sanitation was necessary. No problem, I prefer sanitized! We explored the ship and were thoroughly impressed with all areas. What's not to love with Central Park, The Boardwalk, the carousel, etc.

We were allowed into our cabins at around 2:30. We had Central Park view, cabin 9583. It was big enough and having the bench seat by the window helped give extra space. We didn't have much of a view since this cabin is towards an end because I wanted to be near the elevator. All we could see really were some trees & part of the Coach store. The only complaint really was that the couch was filthy. Our Steward was great but I was disappointed when I asked if I could get a pitcher of ice water placed in my room everyday & he told me that I would have to call room service for that. Again, spoiled by Celebrity I guess. I called room service and was told they couldn't bring me a pitcher but I could order glasses of ice water. Also, no standing order could be placed, I'd have to call everyday. That's ridiculous. No pitcher for ice water? So for rest of cruise I called everyday & ordered 4 glasses. Crazy!

Central Park View Stateroom

Only complaint was the couch was filthy. Other than that, it had enough room for us & really liked the window seat. Steward is great.
